Pfelder’s artistic approach and work involves giving certain spaces or places an appropriate new use, conversion or use at all, redefining them.

“We must be contemporary and spatial”, a quote from Franz Xaver Baier’s philosophical discourse “Der Raum”, in which lived space is related to concrete ways of life and propagated as the medium of a state, could be seen as the baseline for his work.

In his situational interventions in the urban environment, he deals very specifically with urban and social structures. Questions of public space are taken up and the public itself is thematized. The integrative and communicative character of the works is important here.
