SLEEPING BEAUTY and RAPUNZEL
The annual Puppet Theater series in Berlin / F.i.B.2025 invites you to enjoy theatrical delights with SLEEPING BEAUTY in May and RAPUNZEL in June.
SLEEPING BEAUTY or It All Began in the Kitchen (Sleeping Beauty / La Bella Durmiente)
Drama and puppet theater with lots of music, great sounds, and beautiful songs for children and adults.
The Theater im Globus production combines drama, music, puppetry, and elements of ballads and narrative theater in an entertaining and charming way, transporting audiences—both young and old—into a magical world.
The cook Hanne-Berta-Luise Kochlöffel (actress Hanne Braun) plays the story of Sleeping Beauty. She was at the court of the king and queen at the time and can remember exactly how everything happened. Captivating melodies and original text passages invite you to participate in the story's progression and success.
The play is performed on a stage centered around the castle, a real fairytale castle with turrets, containing a room that can be transformed from a royal ballroom into a kitchen in the blink of an eye.
Funny ideas and humorous details, songs and music interwoven into the action, characterize this charming performance, which consistently attracts enthusiastic audiences at festivals and tours both at home and abroad – not least at the Mix Max Children's Festival in Brixen (Italy) and the Käpt'n Book Reading Festival in Bonn.

RAPUNZEL (Rapunzel / Verdezuela / Raiponce)
A puppet show by Jost Braun based on the Brothers Grimm with lots of music, great sounds, and beautiful songs for children and adults.
The fairy tale of Rapunzel is presented in a funny and charming, tangible and poetic way. The well-crafted combination of puppetry and music, and the friendly, ambivalent way in which the story is acted, told, sung, and commented on, introduces the audience to the Grimm fairy tale as they know it, in all its beauty and tragedy, while also allowing room for their own imagination, providing plenty of fun, and offering a cheerful ending—as it should be.
The success of the updated production is due in no small part to new sound effects and newly composed, original, and memorable songs that accompany the action, including the exciting soundscape for the recitative "Imagine Your Neighbor Were a Sorceress," the "Song of Riding," the "Song of Washing Hair," and the one about "Rapunzel's Salad."
