A gathering on stage to reaffirm a prophecy that already came true yesterday. The bed creases will speak to us, revealing needs we may not yet be aware of. Connections arise from the fact that we don't have to walk, run, or even get up. That we are protected without straining our muscles, without knowing many people, without money, insurance, or a passport.

We archive, create, and listen to our creases in various forms of presence to explore our needs and be ready.

The gathering comprises the experiences and materials from personal bed crease readings, in which Jeanne Eschert combines magic, rituals, palmistry, and experiences in bed. Together with the participants, she reads the physicality and temporality in the imprints of the bedsheets.

If you are interested in a bed crease reading via home visit, video call, or chat, please write to bedfoldreadings@gmail.com.
This program is designed for people who spend a lot of time in bed and have developed a special relationship with it—people with chronic or mental illnesses, disabilities, or those around them.

Jeanne Eschert creates texts, performances, magic, choreography, visual art, and ongoing gatherings in various theaters and venues. She works in a magic shop, grew up with the circus in Cologne, and studied Applied Theater Studies in Giessen. Her artistic work explores magic tricks, chronic illness, being bedridden, and trans identity.
