Cicle Gaudí
Maria (Laura Weissmahr), a young writer who has just become a mother, comes across news of a shocking incident: a French woman has drowned her ten-month-old twin girls in the bath. Maria becomes obsessed with the child murderer – why did she kill them? From that moment on, the shadow of infanticide hangs over her like a dizzying possibility.
Salve Maria is inspired by the book Amek ez dute (Not the Mothers) by Basque writer Katixa Agirre.
The film received the Gaudí Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (Mar Coll and Valentina Viso), and Laura Weissmahr won the Gaudí and Goya Awards for Best New Actress.
After the screening, there will be a discussion with Laura Weissmahr, moderated by Olivia López Bremme, accompanied by a Catalan aperitif sponsored by the Mallorcan winery Ànima Negra and the GatRooms hotel.
The admission price is €10 and includes the film, the discussion, the aperitif and all taxes.
