On the occasion of Franco-German Day 2026, we are delighted to invite you to an extraordinary evening at the CFB on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, featuring the performance ‘Berlin–Lagarce: retour aux sources’.

This project, supported by the Franco-German Citizens' Fund and realised in partnership with Microwave and La Ménagerie, offers a lively and contemporary reinterpretation of the texts of Jean-Luc Lagarce, who wrote Juste la fin du monde in 1990 at the Centre Français de Berlin.

More than 35 years after this significant work of contemporary theatre, we return to the place where it was created to explore, in a Franco-German artistic dialogue, what memory, history and the city of Berlin can still convey to us today.

On the programme:

  • Stage presentation of the German-French workshops (text, music, video). Would you like to take part? Register for the workshop on 17 January!
  • Musical-visual performance ‘Li chante Lagarce’, combining cello, bass, guitar, piano, voice and video creation.
  • Following the performance: informal exchange at the bar!
  • A programme for school classes at 10 a.m. on 20 January (write to us at gautin@centre-francais.de if you would like to come with your school class).
