Spiritual Jazz for World Peace

Passport to Magonia is more than just a jazz band; they are musical navigators who take listeners on an introspective journey through soundscapes that are both familiar and transcendent.

Hailing from the pulsating streets of Berlin, the quartet of Davide Incorvaia (piano), Richard Müller (bass), Jan Leipnitz (drums), and Johannes Barthelmes (saxophone) weaves a tapestry of modal jazz, free improvisation, and spiritual resonances. Inspired by the visionary sounds of John and Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and other masters of spiritual jazz, Passport to Magonia explores the deepest corners of the human spirit through their music.

Davide Incorviai's piano playing is a kaleidoscope of harmonic complexity and emotional depth, providing a foundation for Richard Müller's grounding bass and Jan Leipnitz's multi-layered drumming. Johannes Barthelmes' saxophone is the soul of the band, guiding listeners through spiritual realms with haunting melodies and improvisational excursions.

Passport to Magonia is known for its electrifying live performances, during which it forms a symbiotic connection with its audience. Each performance is a unique experience, a meditation on sound and silence that leaves listeners with a sense of renewal and inspiration.

Whether in intimate jazz clubs or on large festival stages, Passport to Magonia invites the audience to embark on a spiritual odyssey, a journey that transcends the boundaries of jazz and celebrates the transformative power of music.
