Dynamics of iconic image production. Jasmin Assadsolimani, Dortmund
Fashion magazines rely on the photographs and prestige of renowned star photographers. At the same time, they provide a platform for the publication and print distribution of fashion photographs and contribute significantly to the creation of iconic images that become ingrained in our cultural memory.

This lecture focuses on fashion photography within the magazine context to trace the dynamics of production and canonization. These processes occur both in media competition—for example, between magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar—and in profitable alliances between various players in the fashion industry.
