AŞ, TATAR KYZ:LAR

The show invites guests on a journey through childhood memories and futuristic visions – with translingual songs in Tatar, English, German, Belarusian and Russian, which reflects the immigrant background of the artists and their path to reclaim their languages and cultures. The show costumes take up on Tatar fairy tale Saq Soq – two brothers who were cursed by their mother, became birds, forgot their native language and their way home.


TATAR KYZ:LAR interpreted Saq Soq as a story of the loss of one’s home, mother tongue and culture due to russification. That is also one of the songs on the album.
