The play, developed as part of the "Die Annen rauf" project, theaterspiel Witten 2022, emerged from conversations, interviews, peer consultations, test readings, and research with trans* people, relatives, young people, and counseling centers. Funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.



A discussion with the audience takes place after each performance.

Enzo is sitting in a doctor's waiting room, waiting for his first hormone treatment. Enzo is trans. The play tells the story of Enzo's journey to the gender in which he feels comfortable, a journey to his true self. But how does one become oneself? It also deals with the reactions of those around him, his friends. Suddenly, his mother Sylvia appears... The audience is addressed directly as fellow waiters and thus experiences Enzo's development and transformation, his feelings, longings, and doubts up close.
