Ileana Grabitz (Head of Politics at Die Zeit) and Peter Dausend (DIE ZEIT), the hosts of Das Politikteil, will discuss this with bestselling author, award-winning playwright, and essayist Anne Rabe on November 25, 2025 – live at 7:30 p.m. in the Apollosaal of the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
Rabe was born and raised in East Germany in the 1990s and, in her somewhat autobiographical novel The Possibility of Happiness, writes about her generation, which grew up between dictatorship and democracy and whose "origin is a void." Her new book, The M-Word: Against Contempt for Morality, was published in the summer of 2025, in which she reflects on how and why morality is being pushed out of sociopolitical discourse.
