BUBBLES …wir waren doch Freunde (BUBBLES …we were friends, weren't we?)

The film tells an intense and stirring story about the beliefs we use to construct our identity and how these beliefs are shaken when we encounter ghosts from the past.

The film:

A weekend at the Wadden Sea turns into an intense emotional ordeal for Fiete Leonard Scheicher. Together with his girlfriend Amiri Zeynep Bozbay, he encounters his former best friend Luca Johannes Nussbaum, who now lives in a completely different social environment.

The unexpected encounter ultimately brings to light an old guilt that Fiete actually wanted to repress forever. As tensions within the holiday group increase, the different worlds collide and harmonious coexistence becomes increasingly difficult, the situation escalates.

Bubbles is a dense, fantastically acted indie film from Germany.
