On October 13, 2025, the doors of the Red Salon at the Volksbühne will open for a special preview of the interfilm short film festival.

At the festival preview, the curators will present their personal favorite films of the year. The selected short films offer a first taste of what awaits you at the festival – exciting, touching, and surprising cinematic experiences!

Following the screenings, our curators will be available for a Q&A session. Take the opportunity to learn more about the background of the film programs, the selection of themes, and the creative vision behind the festival. Over a drink, you can exchange ideas with filmmakers, experts, and film fans in a relaxed atmosphere.

INTERFILM dedicates its 41st edition to the theme "Weaving Tomorrows." Between solidarity and resistance, memory and utopia, the festival explores the potential of the present, the power of community, and paths into the future in over 300 short films.

Queer, feminist, decolonial, and intersectional perspectives are at the center. Our goal is to celebrate cinema as a vibrant, social space and to understand the festival as a discursive space.

Admission is free—so come along, be surprised, and get in the mood for the festival.
