The concert's centerpiece is the monumental motet on the very same hymn "Befiehl du deine Wege" (Blessed are your ways). It was composed by Johann Christoph Altnickol, a student and son-in-law of the great Johann Sebastian Bach. In 13 verses, each verse of the hymn is precisely interpreted and translated into music.
Further choral and organ works by Bach, Schütz, and Beach round out the concert.
