Transformation concert in the Neues Museum

On October 24 and 25, 2025, the Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection at the Neues Museum Berlin, together with the ensemble MEMORIA TENERE, invites you to a musical journey into the 18th dynasty of Egyptian history, a period shaped by two women.

Hatshepsut, who had herself crowned pharaoh by the god Amun, and Nefertiti, who is famous not only for her legendary beauty but, above all, played an important political role during the reign of her husband Akhenaten.

Both women are historical figures with eventful lives that lend them a special aura. The unique musical setting of historical sources for voice, cor anglais, bass clarinet, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and percussion brings reality and myth to life. Concert movements in the Staircase Hall and the Greek Courtyard alternate with musical interludes and readings in individual exhibition rooms of the Neues Museum.
