The shell of the berlin modern building, which is largely complete, will open its doors to the public on 18 and 19 October 2025. For the first time, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the building designed by Herzog & de Meuron and the future exhibition rooms.

Information boards and guides will offer insights into berlin modern and the exhibition concept during an open tour.
On both days, Joan Jonas' 30-minute performance ‘Mirror Piece’ will take place in the building's entrance area of the building at 12 noon and 2 p.m.
Special caution is required on the construction site.
To ensure that your visit is as safe as possible, please observe the following instructions:
- A tour route marked with barriers leads through the building. You may only move within this marked area and must not cross any barriers.
- You should wear robust shoes, be sure-footed and have a head for heights.
- The tour route is not barrier-free.
