In this four-day fall vacation course, children aged 10 and up create an outfit for special occasions - inspired by the city's past.
A costume does not have to be a disguise. It can reflect creativity and individuality. Using reusable materials, the participating children develop ideas for their Berlin costume!
They can also use them to convey their own messages. They will find inspiration for their designs in the BerlinZEIT exhibition. There they sketch their ideas for items of clothing and collect shapes and patterns that they want to use.
Using collages and drawings, they experiment with collected and self-designed motifs on paper and create their own layouts on fabric. They learn the basics of sewing using simple patterns.
