Freedom – for many a matter of course, for others a life-threatening goal. On our bike tour along the Berlin Wall, we immerse ourselves in a Berlin that was divided after the Second World War – and thus in the era of the Cold War.
We visit places where people risked everything to flee to the West – through tunnels or by jumping out of windows.
At Bernauer Strasse, the Tränenpalast (Palace of Tears) or the former Bornholmer Strasse border crossing, we tell the stories of those who were brave enough to break free from their confinement.
During the approximately 3.5-hour bike tour, we see original remains of the Wall, watchtowers and the structure of the death strip – but also how Berlin deals with these memories today.
Our guides combine personal stories with historical facts, bringing to life how closely the quest for freedom is linked to the history of this city.
