Faces of Inclusion: New exhibition at Bistro Marie in the Bundestag
Inclusion has many faces – some of which can be seen in the German Bundestag from September 19th. Until October 17th, 2025, Bistro Marie is presenting the exhibition "Marie. A Bistro That Connects." Through images and voices, it tells the story of lived diversity and teamwork.
The opening will take place on September 19th at 5 p.m. in Bistro Marie in the Bundestag.
British photographer Aubrey Wade has portrayed employees – with and without disabilities, from different walks of life, and in various roles: as waitress, intern, cook, or hostess. Each of them shapes the face of the bistro and shares short quotes about what inclusion means to them.
"Marie is more than a bistro." Here, people not only cook, serve, and learn, but also live and laugh together. Diversity is not a barrier, but rather part of an open and vibrant atmosphere. Bistro Marie demonstrates how inclusion works in everyday life – right in the political center of Germany and yet open to everyone: tourists, members of parliament, employees, and Berliners.
