Film series "Shared Histories – Collaboration in Ethnographic Film"

Four Western women are captured by Mongolian Princess Ulun Iga and her warriors from the Trans-Siberian Railway to the lush grasslands of Inner Mongolia, where they are finally integrated into the nomadic culture and shamanic ceremonies and beliefs.

Ulrike Ottinger carefully creates an adventurous encounter of two cultural worlds as an impressionistic, visual feast of shared anthropology.
