Film series "Shared Histories – Collaboration in Ethnographic Film"

American photographer Edward Curtis created a milestone with this first feature-length film made exclusively in collaboration with Native North Americans.


The epic story of love and war, set before European contact, features non-professional actors from Kwakwaka’wakw (Kwakiutl) communities in British Columbia – a people famous for their spectacular visual culture and performances.
