Film series "Shared Histories – Collaboration in Ethnographic Film"

This groundbreaking ethnofiction follows the inhabitants of Île-aux-Coudres in Canada as they renew their centuries-old tradition of trapping beluga whales – a direct result of the filmmakers’ encounter with the fishing community. A panoramic documentary poetically capturing the islanders’ lives and spirituality, rituals and legends, questioning the distinction between the observer and the observed.
