NoonSong - Song & Prayer

The
monophonic melodies of Gregorian chants, which are over 1000 years old, still
fascinate people today. They are archaic, strange, meditative and seem to
combine Western and oriental culture. The interpretations by sirventes berlin
dispense with gimmicky ingredients and present the chants in their skilfully
differentiated form.

NoonSong - what's that? Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music fans and architecture enthusiasts gather for NoonSong. It is both a concert and a church service, developed from Anglican Evensong. Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin perform choral music under the direction of Stefan Schuck. The repertoire ranges from Renaissance music to contemporary compositions.
