Being able to act responsibly based on a deep understanding of the spiritual connections and laws of the global economy remains one of the pressing issues of our time. Rudolf Steiner described gift-giving as a global economic category and developed a new perspective on it.

He drew radical conclusions, including with regard to the handling of capital.

Could fundamental problems of economic life be solved if gift-giving were given a place in the economic organism? Following on from last August's summer symposium on the gift economy, the Institute for Social Issues in Freiburg and Berlin is hosting an event that will explore and flesh out the idea of the gift economy from various perspectives in lectures, discussions and two workshops.
