Every first Wednesday of the month is ‘Rubbish Wednesday’, an initiative organised by the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden and World Cleanup Day Germany.

Visitors to the centre can borrow free cleanup kits from the customer information desk and set off with litter pickers, gloves and rubbish bags to make Prenzlauer Berg a cleaner place.
This individual initiative is rewarded with small gifts, such as a Rewe shopping voucher for every rubbish bag filled.
The next Rubbish Wednesday will take place on 3 September 2025.
- Time: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The goal is to foster shared responsibility, raise awareness around cleanliness in public spaces — and make the neighborhood a more livable place for everyone.
