A musical game with identity and sound

What is it about?

What exactly is a melody? Is it something very personal or does it belong to everyone? Can it be destroyed, changed or reinvented together?

In this workshop with composer Eleftherios Veniadis, we will explore the theme of melody – an important element in music. Over two weekends, we will experiment with well-known catchy tunes, new ideas and the work ‘Individuum’, which Veniadis wrote for Young Euro Classic in 2019.


Eleftherios mainly composes music theatre. He tells stories with sounds, combines the old with the new and brings individuals together in a group.

The result will be a small musical theatre production, which will be performed in a workshop concert on 30 November.


Main topics:

• The orchestral composition ‘Individuum’ by Eleftherios Veniadis – inspired by the four ancient temperaments: melancholic, choleric, sanguine and phlegmatic. Each character sounds different and has its own musical language.
  
• Well-known melodies and catchy tunes that you bring with you as a starting point Musical methods: improvisation, variation, deconstruction and composition
  
• Working in a group and as an individual
  
• Warm-ups, performance exercises and joint rehearsals
