Neighborhood festival in the garden of ESMT Berlin on July 5.
Together with the Archäologisches Haus, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Bundesstiftung Bauakademie, the Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss, the Hanns Eisler School of Music and the Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Berlin Mitte, ESMT Berlin is hosting the Summer on the Island - Neighborhood festival in the garden of the former GDR State Council building at Schlossplatz 1
Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 2:00-8:00 pm
Visitors can expect a varied program for the whole family: food trucks with international specialties, a spacious children's area with a bouncy castle, magic, face painting and airbrush tattoos, live music on the garden stage and guided tours of the PETRI Berlin archaeological trail make the festival an open place for exchange, encounters and experiences in the middle of Berlin.
The focus will be on the questions: What will actually become of the center of the capital? How are science, culture and city administration shaping the development of the southern Spree island?
Those who not only want to talk about it, but also experience the diversity of the place directly, are cordially invited to spend a summery day in the countryside together with neighbors, institutions and interested parties. Organized by ESMT Berlin in close cooperation with the institutions of the Spreeinsel interest group, the festival offers a platform for dialogue, information and encounters - accessible, free of charge and right in the center of Berlin.
