Learning to shape the future

The future is uncertain – but people can shape it. You'll learn how to do this at this open lab evening. You'll learn about the Human-Centered Design method, which you can use to approach complex problems creatively and solution-oriented.

Human-Centered Design places people at the center of the innovation process. The goal is to develop solutions that are truly needed. In this workshop, everyone will delve deeply into the question, develop empathy for different perspectives, and design initial prototypes for a more climate-friendly agriculture.

Participants will explore how agriculture can become more climate-friendly without jeopardizing food security.

Agriculture is both a cause and a victim of climate change. It must adapt to continue to ensure stable yields – while also finding ways to make its own contribution to climate protection. The focus is on approaches that are practical, fair, and sustainable.

In this workshop, participants will look at agriculture in 2040:

• How can agriculture adapt to climate change?
• What political framework conditions and social changes are necessary?
• How can agriculture itself contribute to climate protection?

Together, they will develop innovative ideas and create initial prototypes for sustainable agriculture.

The event is part of the workshop series "Learning to Shape the Future," which takes place once a month as part of the Open Lab evening. In a total of four modules, you will learn sound methods for shaping the future, which you can compile into your own individual future methodology.

Workshop:

The Berlin Ideas Lab is a laboratory for transformational design. The team supports organizations in the design process of sustainable product and service innovations as well as desirable visions of the future using methods from futurology, design thinking, and visual storytelling.
