Portraits from well-known series such as "World" and "Moon" are shown, which stand in exciting contrast to the nature-inspired pictorial worlds from the series "Floresta" and "Voyage Pittoresque". The combination of digital precision and painterly aesthetics creates a harmonious balance that underlines van Empel's unmistakable signature.
Van Empel is internationally known for his hyper-realistic photo collages, which he composes from thousands of self-taken photographs. Each work is created as a detailed, autonomous reality beyond classical photography - a style that has made him one of the most important photographic artists of today.
