Benefit concert in the garden of the Liebermann Villa
With "White Nights," the Brass Ensemble of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) presents a program centered around Midsummer Night.
All composers lived or live in the latitudes where the White Nights phenomenon occurs. The compositions are original works for this ensemble. This is particularly surprising in the case of Sibelius's works, some of which were composed in Berlin, as they are virtually unknown even in brass circles.
With his suite, Jukka Linkola amusingly explores the playing techniques of brass instruments. The Trumpet Sextet of the "Romantic" Oskar Böhme was written in St. Petersburg and, along with the Trumpet Concerto, is his best-known work.
