Summer concert in the garden of the Liebermann Villa

The Hebrew Choir Berlin was founded in 2014 and consists of approximately 30-40 amateur singers of different ages, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds. It represents a diversity of realities, backgrounds, cultures, and religions in the state of Berlin.

The choir's primary goal is to bring the vibrant Israeli and Jewish musical culture and the Hebrew language—along with other historical Jewish languages such as Ladino and Yiddish—to life, and to build bridges between past and present, as well as between German and Israeli/Jewish culture and between German and Israeli, as well as Jewish and non-Jewish people in Berlin.

Until the early 1930s, Berlin was a city where Jewish musicians shaped musical life. The choir aims to contribute to bringing back the cultural richness of that era and a forgotten color of music.

The choir aims to make today's vibrant Jewish-Israeli musical culture and the Hebrew language audible in the city's music – and to give a voice to the Jews and Israelis living in Berlin, demonstrating that they and their music are visible, audible, and welcome.

Since 2022, the Hebrew Choir Berlin has been conducted by Dr. Yael Front.

  • Doors open at 6:15 PM
  • Admission: €15 per person

The concert is part of the educational project "Max Liebermann and Jewish Life in Berlin."
