How does it feel to leave the "land of victims" and migrate to the "land of perpetrators"? What does it mean to remember Germany's history of violence in Poland when living in Germany? How does one's relationship to one's own language change?

The discussion, reading, and screening with writers Matthias Nawrat and Ariel Rosé, as well as director Nicole Humiński, will address these questions.

The colloquial expression "dawać w kość" – literally "to give into the bones" – is a powerful metaphor and emotional aggregate that captures the memory of Germany's history of violence and a migration experience, allowing us to think and feel further from it.

An event with Nicole Humiński, Matthias Nawrat, and Ariel Rosé, moderated by Jadwiga Kamola and in cooperation with the German-Polish House.
