In 1990, courageous citizens not only saved the documents of the secret police from destruction, they also turned Mielke's headquarters back into a public space. Today, the Stasi Records Archive in the Federal Archives is located here and provides information about the work of the Stasi and its documents.

"A monument to surveillance": 111 kilometers of files are stored in the Stasi Records Archive, many of which contain personal data about people - collected by the State Security. The exhibition "Insight into the Secret" makes the significance of this archive comprehensible.
