The anniversary exhibition presents outstanding positions in contemporary art from all over the world - curated with a view to tomorrow.
Background to the exhibition & relevance:
While the Berlin art market turns over almost 900 million euros annually and over 4,300 people work in this sector, many artists* are facing significant cutbacks in 2025: The Fund for Exhibition Remuneration (FABiK) has been suspended and funding for art in public spaces has been drastically reduced.Right now, the work of BBA is more important than ever:
Since 2015, BBA Gallery has been awarding prize money, curating international exhibitions and promoting up-and-coming talent - all without institutional funding. A total of over EUR 35,000 has been awarded to artists. In ten years, BBA has realised more than 50 exhibitions with over 250 artists from 53 countries.
About BBA Gallery
Initially founded in 2015 as an artist-producer gallery and officially established as BBA Gallery in 2017, the gallery is now one of Berlin's pioneering artist-run institutions. Recognised for its innovative and unique approach to the contemporary art market, BBA Gallery challenges the status quo of the art world.
