
The occasion is Lithuania's second national holiday and commemorates the founding of the state under Grand Duke Mindaugas in 1253. Various dominions and small principalities were united into one kingdom. King Mindaugas was the first and only king of Lithuania.
The musicians will be Ramutė Kalnėnaitė, cello, and Jūratė Landsbergytė, organ, and works by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Konstantinas Čiurlionis, George Frideric Handel, Aivars Kalejs, and Olivier Messiaen.
