Galeria Plan B presents Serban Savu's sixth solo exhibition on the occasion of Gallery Weekend Freude. The works revolve around the diverse meanings of visible reality, which he reinterprets with references to art history. With precise observation and subtle empathy, he questions the present in the light of historical contexts.

In Golden Ages, Savu continues his exploration of history by examining myths, ruins, and hunting scenes. He tells of eras that emerge from the remains of past cultures and observes the present as if it were itself already past—embedded in an endless cycle of creation and decay.

His images explore the fragile boundary between human creativity and a world beyond our control. Archaeological excavations, tranquil landscapes, and scenes of transition between exposure and oblivion open up spaces where past and present merge.

In contrast to the structures created by humans, the last fragments of untouched nature appear – fleeting, inaccessible, and increasingly threatened by ideologies and ambitions.

Savu's realistic style of painting often touches on the surreal: He dissolves linear narrative structures and creates timeless visual worlds in which the future becomes tangible like a relic.
With Golden Ages, he stages the endless rhythm of construction and decay with subtle irony – inviting us to view the present from the distance of a long-gone future.
