Fabelhafte Weihnachtswelt at Sony Center

The date for this Christmas market has not yet been set for 2021

Thousands of lights sparkle and glitter. The Magic Winter World is not a classic Christmas market, but an enchanted winter wonderland with a sea of lights.

On all four Sundays in Advent, the Sony Center becomes a virtual meeting place. Read more in our 5 winter tips for Berlin.

The originally planned Christmas market will not take place.

Immerse yourself in the fascinating glittering world at the Sony Center, where a sparkling sea of lights and thrilling dance shows await you.

Magic stars under the dome: The futuristic Sony Center is adorned with a huge light installation consisting of thousands of bright blue and golden lights that hang like a gigantic chandelier under the brightly lit dome of the Sony Center. More than 100,000 lights create a magical atmosphere.

Christmas woodland and dance show

At Christmas time, the Sony Center is adorned with a festively illuminated Christmas woodland. The shimmering lights, together with the magic of the stars, transform the inner courtyard into an enchanted winter wonderland. This is the perfect setting for the dance show, which always takes place on the hour. Every year the dance show is newly choreographed, but is always a highlight for all visitors. In 2018 a ballerina and a rapper danced the big city fairy tale "The Magic Moment", while before that an ice dancer enchanted the audience on a special ice rink. So let's wait and see what the show under the starry sky has in store for us this year.

The Sony Center

The Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz is a futuristic ensemble of buildings made of steel and glass with a spectacular tent roof above the forum, which glows brightly in the evening. Parts of the historic Hotel Esplanade are integrated into the modern building, which now houses a restaurant. For the little ones, a visit to the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Berlin with around five million LEGO® bricks is, of course, the real highlight.

Film house in the Sony Center

The Sony Center also houses the Museum of Film and Television, where you can take an exciting journey through German film history. The cinema Arsenal – Institut für Film und Videokunst e. V. shows discerning art house cinema and classics in the basement.
