He grew up in a Palestinian refugee camp in Baalbek, Lebanon, and came to the GDR in 1981 on a scholarship.
He studied photography in Leipzig and became a participant observer of everyday life and social reality.
He was curious about the unknown and at the same time wanted to convey a picture of the life around him. In his photographs, Mahmoud Dabdoub tells of the everyday life of people in the Middle East, the GDR and reunified Germany.
