Jordi Savall’s recording of Mozart’s “Jupiter Symphony” was praised for its arrestingly fresh view of a well-loved classic. Savall, one of the most influential pioneers of the world of historically informed performance practice, brings decades of experience with earlier repertoire to his Mozart interpretations. With this work, the Catalan conductor, gambist, researcher, and regular guest of our “Originalklang” series makes his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker.
The programme opens with Jean-Philippe Rameau’s festive orchestral suite from the opera Naïs and Christoph Willibald Gluck’s groundbreaking ballet music Don Juan.
