A multimedia music experience in 360°
Peter Schilling's music has influenced entire generations and continues to inspire many people around the world to this day. In January 2026, the artist will celebrate his 70th birthday, and the Zeiss Großplanetarium will mark the occasion with a new immersive fulldome program entitled “Major Tom: Completely Detached.”

A production by the Planetarium Berlin Foundation in collaboration with Peter Schilling: The world premiere of “Major Tom: Completely Detached” will be celebrated in conjunction with a concert set by the internationally acclaimed pop star. A multimedia musical experience that breaks new ground in combining music and astronomy with elaborate fulldome visualizations and a 3D sound design specially tailored to the dome. “Major Tom: Completely Detached” can be experienced exclusively at the Zeiss Großplanetarium.
Peter Schilling has been one of the most important voices in German pop music since the 1980s. The fulldome experience “Major Tom: Completely Detached” is a multimedia trip through his broad musical spectrum. Iconic global hits such as “Major Tom (Completely Detached)” and “The Different Story,” “Terra Titanic,” and “Die Wüste lebt” are complemented by new, previously unreleased compositions. The result is a futuristic experience that allows music to be experienced in an innovative way.
