Boules in the museum quarter
...wonderfully relaxing
Boules has been played here on the central strip since the 1960s. Young and old gather from the early evening hours with their own balls or balls borrowed from the ‘Kastanie’ pub for an after-work game.
Boules is a wonderful game: It requires calmness, concentration, skill and precision. And boules is particularly fun with metal balls: They are smooth and heavy in the hand and the fine pattern that covers the metal surface gives the balls a lot of style. The throw feels great, then let go and just watch them roll on. And listen to the soft crunching sound:
The gravel path leading to Charlottenburg Palace on the central reservation of Schlossstraße has been a popular boules court since the 1960s. You can usually meet players in front of the Kastanie pub on beautiful summer evenings. Enjoy the unique atmosphere and the fresh air and join in the fun!
