Café Kranzler, which was located above the Ku'damm, was an institution of West Berlin. The Barn, a café which has recently opened on the premises, has retained much of the old charm, such as the striking red and white awning. The interior now consists of bright, modern wooden furniture and serves coffee roasted in Berlin. Customers can also enjoy cookies and cakes made on the premises, with views of the Kurfürstendamm. The Barn can be found at eight other locations in Berlin as well. Together with its coffee partner in Daterra Brazil, the Barn Café has initiated a tree planting project on site, with the aim of planting 40,000 native trees within five years.
