Long Night of Museums in Berlin 2026: Crime in Berlin - Following the Trail of Crime
Experience a Long Night in Berlin filled with suspense, history and entertainment - mysterious, captivating, and truly unforgettable. On 29 August 2026, the time has come again: as part of the Long Night of Museums, 75 museums across Berlin will open their doors and invite visitors to enjoy an extraordinary cultural experience. Look forward to a diverse programme filled with fascinating insights, unexpected perspectives, and unforgettable moments. Under this year’s theme, "Crime in Berlin", everything revolves around the captivating world of crime. Embark on a journey through the darker sides of human nature, hidden chapters of history, and the city's most intriguing stories. Take a closer look at criminal investigations and discover how crime has shaped society, culture and history throughout the ages.
The programme spans a wide range of topics, from Cain’s murder of Abel and murder plots in Medici-era Florence to cybercrime and the black markets of post-war Germany. Visitors can enjoy gripping crime readings inspired by Berlin’s underworld, fast-paced musical comedy packed with surprising twists, and lively Charleston and swing performances that revive the atmosphere of legendary cafés such as the famous Moka Efti.
Berlin's unique diversity of museums - 75 museums included
75 museums throughout Berlin are once again opening their doors until after midnight and offering their guests a very special programme of events. Once again this year, entertaining guided tours, performances, glimpses behind the scenes, special exhibitions, readings, workshops, music, food and drink will turn an evening visit to a museum into an unforgettable experience. The programme includes many international hotspots such as Gropius Bau, Berliner Unterwelten, Museum für Naturkunde, Neue Nationalgalerie, Deutsches Technikmuseum, Schloss Charlottenburg, Humboldt Forum and numerous special museums such as the Futurium, Bauhaus Archive / Museum für Gestaltung or the Samurai Museum Berlin. The museums open their doors to the public from 6 pm to 2 am and offer insights into their collections, exhibitions, guided tours and special events.
Getting around the Long Night of Museums 2026 in Berlin: Shuttle buses on four routes connect many of the participating museums. All museums are also easy to reach by public transport, and all major lines run throughout the night.

Reduced tickets are available to pupils, trainees, students, participants in federal voluntary services, recipients of transfer payments, Berlinpass owners and severely disabled persons. Accompanying persons of severely disabled persons with ID card "B" are admitted free of charge. The proof of eligibility is required. Entry to the museums during the Long Night of Museums is free for children up to the age of 12.
