It's spring in Berlin. The trees and flowers are in bloom and adorn the city with their florals. The cherry blossoms, in particular, delight with their delicate white and pink blossom decoration. Depending on the location, some are already almost faded, others still have their buds almost closed.
Under the hashtag #BerlinBlossom you can find the most beautiful spring pictures from Berlin on Instagram. We present a selection of 11 top pictures.
Tip 1: The television tower in a sea of blossoms
Cherry blossoms are in bloom all over the city, including in Mitte at the TV tower. In spring, you can discover the TV tower in its floral decorations from very different perspectives.
Tip 2: TV-Asahi-Kirschblütenallee
On the Mauerweg in Teltow, you'll find the TV Asahi Cherry Blossom Avenue, where you can walk under a pink canopy of thousands of blossoms. By the way, the cherry trees are a gift from Japan. Please note that the avenue is located in the middle of a residential area and there is no parking available. However, you can get there quickly by taking the S25 or S26. Simply get off at the Lichterfelde-Süd stop and walk along Holtheimer Weg to Kirschblütenallee. Alternatively, you can take bus 184 to Schwelmer Straße.
You can find out more about this two-kilometre-long avenue in the Teltow Cherry Blossom Ticker
Tip 3: Bornholmer Straße
Bornholmer Straße with its impressive cherry blossoms is one of the most popular destinations for all BerlinBlossom fans. When the Berlin Wall came down, the border guards opened the first border crossing at Bornholmer Straße, the Bösebrücke. Perhaps that is why the buds here are often among the first to open.
Tip 4: Norwegerstraße
When you're at Bornholmer Bridge, be sure to turn onto Norwegian Street and see for yourself why it's listed as a cherry blossom trail.
Tip 5: Gardens of the World
The Gardens of the World in Marzahn are a beautiful place at any time of the year, but especially in spring the extensive grounds enchant with their colorful blossoms. At the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, we’ll be celebrating the arrival of spring in style – with music, street food and traditional costumes from Japan, China and Korea. There are also plenty of cosplayers in attendance every year, posing against the backdrop of the pink blossoms.
Tip 6: Oberbaumbrücke
The bridge Oberbaumbrücke connects Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. And it is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful bridges in Berlin. A walk with a view from the bridge over the Spree is definitely a worthwhile destination. And even from the underground, you can see a sea of delicate blossoms.
Tip 7: Zeiss-Grossplanetarium
The simple dome of the Zeiss Planetarium forms an exciting contrast with the delicate petals of the surrounding trees. The planetarium takes you into the vastness of the universe and show you the diversity of all natural sciences.
Tip 8: Cherry blossoms in the neighbourhood
Not only the blossoming cherry trees are currently decorating Berlin's streets, but also the magnolias are in full bloom. On a walk through the neighbourhood you can see everywhere how the city is currently covered in bright colours.
Tip 9: Blossom magic at the Berlin Cathedral
Did you recognise it? The Berlin Cathedral in Mitte is also decorated with delicate petals, making it even more beautiful than usual. See for yourself, for example on a walk through Mitte along the Spree.
Tip 10: Tee Blossom in Britz
Flowers and blossoms in all colours: Now you can experience the Britzer Garten in all its spring splendour. Stroll past colourful flowerbeds, walk under pink tree blossoms and welcome the most beautiful time of the year.
