The Easter holidays in Berlin are approaching and with them the perfect opportunity to discover the city together with the family: Thrills at the spring festival, travelling back in time to the Middle Ages in the Düppel museum village, being creative or going on a search for clues. Berlin is once again showing its most exciting side.
Here are 11 tips to make your holiday unforgettable!

Tip 1: Celebrate spring at the carnival

The Berlin Spring Festival transforms the central fairground into a real paradise for carnival lovers:Inside - and with free admission. Over 80 attractions await you, including the "Mission Impossible Tower" and the "Around the World XXL" chain carousel with spectacular views over the whole of Berlin. But it will also be special for younger visitors: Princess Day is on 9 April and superheroes will be visiting on 30 April. And the big fireworks display will take place on 2 May.
For even more hype: the Britz Tree Blossom will delight you from 4 to 27 April on the grounds of Gutspark Britz in Neukölln with live music, rides, treats and, of course, countless blossoming trees. Ideal for a springtime family outing with a picnic and carousel.
Tip: The colourful blossoms also make a perfect backdrop for your family photo.

Or do you prefer things a little quieter, then a relaxed boat tour through Berlin is the right thing for you. Would you like to travel back in time? In the Museum Village Düppel you can experience medieval everyday life up close. Children can bake, carve or feed sheep themselves - a great excursion into the countryside with exciting experiences. Between workshops and pastures, you will learn how people lived 800 years ago. Your children can lend a hand at many stations - history to join in!

My Swan Lake tells the story of Prince Siegfried and the mysterious Princess Odette, who has been transformed into a swan by the dark magic of the sorcerer Redbeard, for children aged 4 and over at the Urania. You observe streets, squares and the colourful hustle and bustle of people - and record your impressions in sketches. After the trace search, you put your ideas on paper using real artistic printing techniques such as woodcut and etching. In the style of Käthe Kollwitz, who brought her surroundings to life and used the printing press to turn everyday moments into impressive art!

Colourful patterns, wax and dexterity: Easter egg painting at the Späth'schen Baumschule brings you closer to an age-old tradition. Children and adults learn techniques and create their own works of art to take home. The artistically painted eggs are a real eye-catcher and tell stories from Lusatia. There's also exciting information about the customs of Sorbian culture.

Tip 10: Be creative at the Museum of Communication

If you want to design secret route maps and treasure maps, sew colourful Easter bags in the sewing workshop, build a folding theatre or create a flip book, or or or or, then come along to the holiday programme at the Museum of Communication. Children can give free rein to their creativity and design, work, paint and write.
