The location alone of Good Morning, Vietnam, named after the US blockbuster, is a good reason to pay the restaurant a visit: Located in a Berlin backyard in Bergmannstraße, it extends over two floors - one of which is a green roof terrace. An attractive place for a small lunchtime snack while strolling through the Bergmann neighbourhood, or for an extended dinner. The restaurant is 100 per cent vegan, but that doesn't mean any restrictions on the varied menu. Flavour and animal welfare simply go hand in hand here!

Monsieur Vuong is a Berlin institution for Vietnamese cuisine. Because he missed the local cuisine, owner Mr Vuong founded the restaurant in 1999. Since then, what is now almost the oldest Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin has been delighting diners with flavoursome dishes prepared fresh every day - and after 25 years it is still a family business. The menu is small, changes regularly and offers authentic specialities without glutamate. You can enjoy fast, friendly service in a colourful atmosphere - perfect for anyone looking for a culinary Vietnam highlight in Mitte.

It doesn't get much heartier than Mamas Banh, because this small Vietnamese restaurant in Prenzlauer Berg is a real family business. It is run by Mum Thi Hoa and her sons Dai Quy and Dai Cuong. The small family has ancient Laotian cooking secrets and now conjures up homemade noodles and tapas in their own restaurant, combining the diversity of Vietnamese cuisine with Laotian influences. The vegetarian banh bao and spicy ua sausages in particular are a must-try. An authentic experience with heart and tradition.

The name of the restaurant goes back to a well-known Vietnamese children's tale, in which a carp overcomes all obstacles, finally swims upstream into the sky and turns into a dragon. This fairy-tale atmosphere is not only created by the dragon sculptures on the walls at Hua Rong, but also by the steaming plates and bowls served at round tables. The Vietnamese dishes you can dine on here are inspired by the culinary tradition of the Sapa mountain region and are characterised by their special flavourful sophistication.

Umami is considered the fifth flavour and means delicious in Japanese. So the term is absolutely right in the name of the Vietnamese restaurant Maison Umami in Kreuzberg. With lots of wood, countless lanterns and a menu that ranges from sumptuously filled summer rolls to creative silken tofu, you can see for yourself. With fair prices and a surprisingly varied dessert selection, Maison Umami sets new standards in gastronomy without compromising on freshness and quality. A friendly restaurant with a menu that delights.

Tip 8: Miss Saigon

Miss Saigon will make you feel right at home. The restaurant is tucked away in a yellow Kreuzberg corner building under a wide awning and appears quite simple at first glance - but appearances are deceptive. As soon as you hold the menu in your hands, it's hard to choose between all the South Vietnamese delicacies. You will also find many vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. Miss Saigon is the secret favourite of Kreuzberg locals and has more than earned this status.

In addition to traditional Vietnamese dishes, you can also enjoy Japanese sushi here - it goes without saying that high-quality fish is used in the preparation. The chefs also ensure that there are always vegetarian alternatives to the classics. Tanh Nam is therefore the perfect place for groups with differing culinary tastes.

The Ben Thanh brings the flair of the lively Saigon neighbourhood of the same name to Berlin. Known for its delicious Vietnamese cuisine, the restaurant offers crispy duck, fresh sushi and delicious tofu - a menu inspired by the flavours of the famous Saigon market. Unlike its Saigon counterpart, the restaurant does not serve food around the clock, but the Vietnamese specialities taste just as good. With its fair prices, Ben Thanh is a must for foodies in Berlin.

Con Tho an der Hasenheide not only impresses with its pun - thỏ means hare in Vietnamese - but also with its innovative fusion cuisine. Traditional Vietnamese dishes are combined with regional ingredients and served in cozy rooms with bamboo decorations. We particularly recommend the extraordinary starters such as the lemongrass tofu and the green crêpes. A culinary experience that should definitely be on the agenda when you visit Hasenheide.
