May is full of public holidays - and Father's Day and Mother's Day also usually fall in this first warm and sunny month of the year. This means you can celebrate twice with the family. Berlin is the perfect city to spend quality time together and do something special that everyone enjoys. Ideas for Mother's Day on May 14

There's a lot going on in Berlin on Mother's Day weekend. We've picked out the highlights for you. And maybe you won't just invite your mum, but book a place for your dad as well. That way he can look forward to an early Father's Day present.

How about a boat trip on the Spree and Landwehrkanal? The boat departs at 11 a.m. from the Schlossbrücke in Charlottenburg or at 11.45 a.m. from the Reichstagsufer. If the weather is fine, you can of course invite your mother to a picnic in the countryside, for example in the Britzer Garten. On Mother's Day, Stella rockt! will be playing on the festival stage by the lake from 5 pm. While mum and dad are rocking out, the little guests can shape little houses and sculptures at the clay-making workshop at the play landscape in the clay village.

Tips for Father's Day on 18 May
