At FREA Bakery, the focus is on quality and craftsmanship. FREA Bakery has been a master baker’s workshop from day one. Here you’ll find a wide selection of sweet pastries and sourdough breads. For the perfect start to the day, the bakery also offers coffee, filled rolls, open sandwiches and croissants.

Tip 2: Discover genuine craftsmanship at Gorilla Bakery
High quality, excellent craftsmanship and top-quality ingredients. That’s what Gorilla Bakery stands for, and you’ll find it at two locations in Berlin. Customers can watch the bread and pastries being made right before their eyes. To ensure the baked goods are particularly flavourful and easy to digest, the bread is given plenty of time to ‘rise’. As well as the café and delicious bread, Gorilla in Schöneberg also offers a daily brunch. Naturally, the dishes are served with delicious, fresh bread.

Tip 3: Try the fresh baked goods from Domberger Brot-Werk
Always fresh and artisanally made. You can definitely taste the passion in the fresh baked goods from Domberger Brot-Werk. Some of the ingredients used even come from regional partners. The bread and cakes are freshly baked every day at all locations. You can find the exact production schedules for each location online. The first – and therefore main – bakery has been located in Moabit (Mitte) since October 2016.

Tip 4: Have a go at baking yourself at KEIT.Berlin
KEIT bakes sourdough bread using local ingredients. Their range includes a variety of breads. From classic wheat and rye breads to multigrain and milk breads, as well as pretzels, bread rolls and baguettes. And if all this reading about delicious breads has made you fancy having a go at baking yourself, you can attend one of the workshops or courses offered by KEIT.

Tip 5: Zeit für Brot can do more than just cinnamon buns
Zeit für Brot is particularly well known for its exceptional homemade cinnamon buns. But the bakery has much more to offer: its house-baked bread with its crisp crust, the moist potato and spelt loaf, and the classic wheat baguette – to name but a few. There’s also a variety of crispy, wholemeal rolls and pretzels. The products are handmade using Bioland-certified ingredients. You’ll find the bakeries at various locations across Berlin.

Tip 7: Visit one of Berlin’s oldest bakeries
The Siebert Bakery has been in Berlin since 1906. This makes it one of the oldest in the capital. The bakery and patisserie is a true family business and is now run by the fifth generation of the family. To guarantee the high quality of its baked goods, Siebert Bakery combines traditional, tried-and-tested craftsmanship with modern technology. You can be sure that only the highest-quality ingredients are used in their products. Incidentally, Siebert Bakery also has a small breakfast café, ideal for a delicious start to the day.

Tip 8: Where craftsmanship meets modern technology
The bread, rolls, cakes, pastries and everything else in the Bio BackHaus range are quintessentially Berlin/Brandenburg. They’re also organic and regional. All ingredients are sourced from Brandenburg or the immediate Berlin area. Baking is still done the traditional way in the bakeries. Naturally, they’re made entirely without artificial additives or stabilisers. Modern technology supports the bakers in their craft. You’ll find Bio BackHaus branches at various locations across Berlin. Many products are also sold in organic supermarkets.

JUTE Bäckerei is Berlin’s first completely gluten-free bakery. The founders, Freda and Friedrich Gilsa, are convinced that you don’t need gluten to enjoy good food. What matters more, they say, is the joy of baking and using the right ingredients. The JUTE Bakery’s concept is aimed particularly at people with a gluten intolerance. But of course, you’re also welcome to enjoy the delicious rolls, loaves and cakes if gluten doesn’t cause you any problems.

Tip 11: Discover Johann Bäckerei in Schöneberg
Johann Bäckerei is located in the heart of Schöneberg. The bakers see themselves as artisans and work exclusively with the finest ingredients, whilst respecting people, nature and animals. What makes this bakery so special? It uses almost exclusively ancient grain varieties. These include, for example, emmer, einkorn and red wheat.
