At the end of February, winter shows its clear and cool side once again: perfect conditions for experiencing Berlin's cultural venues intensively. Whether you rediscover history at the reopening of the Hohenzollern Crypt, dream yourself into spring with Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" or enjoy sparkling taste experiences at "SparklingB!", this weekend is as diverse as Berlin itself. Tip 1: Celebrate the reopening of the Hohenzollern Crypt in Berlin Cathedral

A piece of Prussian-German history can be experienced again starting this weekend: on Saturday, 28 February 2026, Berlin Cathedral will open its doors at 10 a.m. for the ceremonial reopening of the Hohenzollern Crypt. After extensive restoration, you can rediscover the impressive burial site, which is one of the most important royal burial sites in all of Europe. Between artistically crafted sarcophagi and Baroque architecture, the crypt tells the story of centuries of dynastic history. Admission to the grand reopening is free.

Tip 2: Discover sparkling diversity at "SparklingB!" at AXICA

To round off eat! berlin 2026 in style, a sparkling premiere awaits you this weekend: "SparklingB!" is Berlin's first major sparkling wine fair, taking place at the AXICA Congress and Conference Centre right next to the Brandenburg Gate. National and international producers will present sparkling wine, champagne, crémant, cava, Franciacorta and PetNat. Talk to experts and take the opportunity to taste and compare these fine wines. The perfect opportunity to toast your weekend in Berlin.

Tip 3: Listen to Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" by candlelight

If you can hardly wait for spring to arrive, then you shouldn't miss this concert in the chamber music hall of the Philharmonie. Let the young ensemble take you on a musical journey through Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" and carry you from winter into spring. The seasons are complemented by Baroque and Romantic pieces by Albinoni, Schubert, Brahms, Bruch and other composers.

Tip 4: Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site Museum Island on a guided tour

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Museum Island on Saturday. The guided tour takes you through 200 years of architectural and cultural history. The meeting point is the James Simon Gallery, entrance level one. With the combination ticket, you get a guided tour and admission to selected buildings. Whether Old Masters, Antiquity or Egypt – here you will encounter world cultural heritage in a small space. So allow plenty of time and enjoy a coffee afterwards on the banks of the Spree or in the beautiful museum café of the Bode Museum.

A very special musical event awaits you this weekend in the magnificent concert hall on Gendarmenmarkt. The Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the RIAS Kammerchor and conductor Joana Mallwitz will bring Joseph Haydn's "The Creation" to the stage of the Great Hall. Be there when the oratorio, with choir, soloists and orchestra, brings to life a musical vision of the creation of the world. Feel the concentrated power of this monumental work in one of the most beautiful halls in the world.

Hans Fallada's novel "Little Man – What Now?" tells of the worries of a young couple in economically uncertain times. In this production by the Berliner Ensemble, you will witness a deeply human story about love, hope and the struggle for survival in difficult times. The story of the young couple Lämmchen and Pinneberg in 1930s Berlin is still shockingly relevant today.

In the series "Missverstehen Sie mich richtig!" (Misunderstand me correctly!), CDU politician Philipp Amthor meets journalist Ulrike Herrmann. In the relaxed atmosphere of the traditional cabaret, the two tackle complex contemporary issues and question current events. This is how politics in Berlin can be downright fun.
