The Berlinale starts on 13 February - but how do you get your tickets? What else do you need to know? Which cinemas are taking part? We have compiled all the important information about the festival for you.
When does the Berlinale take place?

The film festival takes place from 13 to 23 February 2025. On Saturday, 22 February, the International Jury will award the Golden and Silver Bears at a festive gala. The day before, the TEDDY AWARD for the best queer film will be presented.
When can you buy tickets for the Berlinale?

As every year, the most urgent question is: How can I get tickets?
The advance sale starts on Monday, 10 February 2025 at 10 am. You can book tickets always from 10 a.m. three days in advance (e.g. on Monday for Thursday).
Exceptions are the Berlinale Publikumstag on 23 February and the screenings at the Uber Eats Music Hall, for which you can also buy tickets from 10 February.
By the way, admission to all films - except those in the Generation section - is only available to those aged 18 and over.
Where can you buy tickets?

The advance ticket sales at Potsdamer Platz - and thus the legendary Berlinale queues - no longer exist.
Tickets are available online on the festival website. They are sold via the ticket provider Eventim, so it's best to create an account there in advance. Some films are in high demand, so be quick. You can buy a maximum of two tickets per person per screening; only Generation allows you to buy five tickets. It's also worth checking the online shop again shortly before the start of the event, as tickets sometimes go on sale at short notice
If you don't feel like sitting at your computer or your connection is poor: You can also get tickets from us on site at the Berlin Tourist Infos Main Station and at the Brandenburg Gate, then from Wednesday also at the Humboldt Forum and BER.
Where are the films showing? The cinemas of the Berlinale

The centrepiece of the festival is the Potsdamer Platz, where the competition films are screened in the Berlinale Palast. This is where the stars walk the red carpet and present their latest works. The Forum shows its films at the Arsenal in the Sony Centre. The new Perspectives series will be screened at the Stage Bluemax Theatre, which is taking part for the first time.
The CinemaxX cinema is only available for market screenings and press screenings.
The festival is also moving to individual decentralised venues throughout the city.
The Haus der Kulturen der Welt is once again taking part as a venue, as is the Uber Eats Music Hall in Friedrichshain. From the Zoo Palast in the west to the Colosseum in the east, from silent Green in the north to the E-Werk this means you should also factor in the travel times when planning your programme.
