We have put together a few beautiful cafés where you can start the day together. What about the French-style Cafe Petit Fleury, or would you prefer the Vienna-style Kaffeehaus Sowohlalsauch? Berlin has the right café for every occasion.

Tip 3: Stroll hand in hand along the waterfront

"My fair lady, may I venture, to offer my arm and escort you?" This famous quote from Goethe's Faust doesn't quite rhyme as nicely in english, but a walk along the water still is a nice way to spend time with your date. Stroll along Greenwich Promenade at Tegeler See. If you're good on foot you can even make it all the way around the lake - or take a little detour to the huge murals on the eight high-rise buildings in Tegel Artpark. Treptower Park also has some romantic corners, we especially like the promenade along the Spree from Treptow harbour to the Zenner beer garden. Nearby you will find two more beautiful destinations for your romantic date: the spacious park around the Soviet Memorial and the Archenhold Observatory.

Tip 4: Enjoy the freedom on a balloon flight over Berlin

I've been looking for freedom | I've been looking so long." Sang 1989 by David Hasselhof to celebrate the fall of the Berlin wall this title is still one of the best when it comes down to describing these incredible moments in life, when you just feel free and happy. Look for freedom together with your date on a balloon ride in Berlin. The world balloon rises high into the sky right at Checkpoint Charlie. Alternatively, there are also several providers of hot-air balloon flights. Enjoy floating high in the air and watch the city of freedom pass by below you.

"Will you row with me? Shall we cross the sea together? | Will you go with me on a voyage that will last forever?" With these wise lyrics written by Lynne Perry Christofferson you sure are prepared to cross any rough water to come. Renting a rowboat in Berlin will make an easy start for your livelong voyage. Leave the buzzing citylife behind you and enjoy the peaceful setting on one of Berlin's many lakes. For sailing, we recommend Wannsee or Müggelsee. You can find row boats and pedal boats in the Rummelsburger Bucht or at the Café am Neuen See, which is located between beautiful old trees near Tiergarten.

"Here''s looking at you, kid!" With this romantic film quote from "Cassablanca" your sure score points with your date as you stroll hand in hand into the sunset on the runway of the former Tempelhof Airport. The famous quote by Humphrey Bogart is actually not from the airport scene, but you don't have to tell your date that. Instead, whip out a bottle of champagne and a few other delicacies. And then take off together into seventh heaven.

Tip: You can also be high as the sky at the THF Tower Flughafen Tempelhof Airport.

"The moon is a curving flower of gold, The sky is still and blue; The moon was made for the sky to hold, And I for you." Above the rooftops of Berlin, a few lines of this romantic poem by Sarah Tisdale are sure to put your date in the right mood for an unforgettable evening. Head for one of Berlins specatcular rooftop terraces like Monkey Bar, Solar in Kreuzberg, the Rooftop Bar of the Hotel Amano or on the Rooftop Terrace in the Hotel de Rome with a view of Bebelplatz and the Berliner Dom.

"Dancing is a perpendicular expression of a horizontal desire" according to George Bernhard Shaw, especially Tango. In Berlin there is a Milonga almost every evening. No matter if you are a beginner or an experienced dancer - in Berlin there are many opportunities to experience the sensual dance. After Buenos Aires, Berlin is the city with the most tango events. Get your dance shoes ready! It takes two to tango.

"Let's dance under the stars and forget the world." Berlin never sleeps! That means you don't have to let your romantic date end at sunset either. Dance the weekend away in one of the city's many clubs - in summer many open their gardens and invite you to dance outdoors under the open sky. Try Else Club, Club der Visionäre or ://aboutblank. For the right holiday feeling, we recommend Berlin's beach bars. And on particularly hot summer nights you can jump into the pool at Haubentaucher or Badeschiff for a refreshing dip.
